Hawai‘i Nature Center’s Vice Chair Eric Wright, an executive with Par Hawaii and nature enthusiast, will attempt to ascend North America’s highest mountain peak of Denali in Alaska (formerly known as Mount McKinley). The three-week expedition to reach the third most isolated peak on earth at more than 20,000 feet above sea level will take place this summer. Climate change is altering the landscape of Denali, and its isolated location in the arctic wilderness makes Denali one of the most challenging mountains to summit. Strong blizzards are common and temperatures can quickly drop to as low as -50°F. Eric's other ascents have included 14,000-foot Mount Rainier, Mount Shuksan and several peaks in Colorado.
The Kailua resident and father of three children aims to raise funds and awareness about Hawai‘i Nature Center’s mission to connect children and families to the wonders of nature.
All donations are fully tax deductible and fully benefit the programs and services of Hawai‘i Nature Center on O‘ahu and Maui.
Sponsor his climb to the top of Denali and help protect nature in Hawai‘i.
